Monthly Chhatti Sharif — Sacred Remembrance & Prayer

What Is Chhatti Sharif?

Chhatti Sharif , observed on the sixth day of every Islamic lunar month , is a monthly spiritual gathering at Ajmer Sharif Dargah. Pilgrims come together for collective Fateha, Quranic recitation, and dua , experiencing spiritual solace and communal devotion in the presence of Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chishti (R.A.) .

This observance fosters continuity in devotion , linking the Chishti spiritual lineage with devotees across generations.

Ritual & Practice

Morning Session (~8:30 AM): Held in Ahata-e-Noor near Begami Dalan, the ceremony lasts about an hour and emphasizes solemn recitation without qawwali or music.

Ceremony Components:

Recitation of the Quran

Reading of the Shajra (spiritual genealogy) of Hazrat Khwaja

Peace salutations ( Salām ) to the saint

Concluding with Fateha , invoking blessings and spiritual guidance

Evening Reflection: Some ceremonies continue in the homes of Khadims, extending prayers for all devotees, including those who cannot attend physically.

Participation & Offerings: Devotees may offer Fateha, Langar, Chadar, Quran Khani, or other devotional acts . These offerings can be contributed directly via Syed Hammad ul Hasan or through the Mashrabe Chisht Trust , ensuring spiritual sincerity and proper facilitation.
